Are you ready to take your photography to new heights?
Our Xtreme courses might be just the thing you’re looking for. These are multi-week courses that feature the hands-on and classroom learning we’re known for and dive deep into a photography specialty. But then, there’s more. Each class is paired with an optional Xtreme field trip that might take us to the top of a mountain, looking up in awe at the night sky, or to the depths of a desert valley, soaking in the colors and textures of a stunning landscape - or anywhere in between.
Please note, these courses are offered based on student interest, and we typically offer only one per year.
There’s a whole beautiful universe out there that only becomes visible at night. In our Astro Photography course, we’ll explore the challenges of night sky photography, check out the gear needed to overcome some of those challenges, and finish up by learning how to edit nighttime photography for maximum wow.
Pairs with: an optional Xtreme field trip to Maine - specifically Acadia National Park - for opportunities to shoot the night sky from the top of a mountain, to play with light-painting, or to try some long exposure photography of the surging surf.
There’s a difference between a pretty picture of a pretty place and a true masterpiece of landscape photography. Our Landscape Photography course will show you how to capture an image that tells a story and invites the viewer to journey with you to the heart of your subject.
Pairs with: an optional Xtreme field trip to Maine - specifically Acadia National Park - for opportunities to shoot the rugged coastline, the panorama from the top of a mountain overlooking the ocean, and more.
If you’d like to elevate the photos you take from casual snapshots to stunning works that portray not just how someone looks, but also who they are, our Portrait Photography course is right for you. We’ll cover the types of portraits, how to pose subjects, and how to edit to get to the essence of a person.
Pairs with: an optional day-long Xtreme photo shoot in our studio where you’ll get to try your hand at working with a subject and creating different portrait styles.
